Shorts - Because of the nice weather we often have at this time of year, children are free to wear shorts through the month of September.
Athletic and gym shorts (includes athletic pants) are allowed for grades K-4, but not 5-8. Additionally, our dress code mandates that "Skirts and shorts need to be of appropriate length - no more than three inches above the knee caps" (p. 22). Parents, please make sure your children are wearing dress-code-appropriate shorts (and other clothing items) before they leave for school in the morning. Thank you for your cooperation!
SVLS T-Shirts - Your child will be bringing home a neon green SVLS T-Shirt this week. We love it when the children represent their school and their Savior, so they are welcome to wear these shirts any day they wish! We would especially ask that they wear them on class field trip days, our Christmas caroling outing, and other school events as requested by your child's teacher. Thank you!
Baked Goods Request - The SVLS Soccer/Volleyball Invitational Tournament is coming up on Saturday, September 29. Might you, a relative, or someone you know at church be able and willing to donate some baked goods for the tournament? For more information, please contact Mrs. Steinmetz in person or by email at email@example.com
Hot Lunch Volunteers needed! - Every day hot lunch is served by volunteers. We are looking for additional volunteers on Mondays and Wednesdays. If you are available from 11:30am-1pm on either of those days and interested in helping, please contact Jen Grady (920-810-3884) or Kely Carrasquillo (920-540-1941)
EDP Alternate - SVLS is seeking to hire someone as an alternate EDP provider on the K-8 campus. This person would cover EDP in the afternoons, 1 to 3 times per week, as well as be a substitute for Emily as needed. Starting wage would be between $9-$11 per hour, depending on experience. Job applications can be picked up in the school office.
After School Pickup, Part I - Parents, please be sure to communicate to your child’s teacher when your child is not riding the bus by sending a note with your child to school, or by calling the school office.
After School Pickup, Part II - Please also be sure to pick up your children promptly at the end of the day (3:40 pm), or to arrange acceptable transportation. At 3:50 pm, children not picked up
from school will be automatically sent to EDP (Extended Day Program) and parents will be billed in half-hour increments. After the third unscheduled
EDP use, families will be required to pay the one-time $10.00 registration fee in addition to any hourly fees.
CPTA Meeting and ACT Aspire Results Night - The first CPTA meeting of the school year will be Monday, September 10, at 6:30 pm. As part of this CPTA meeting, parents of 3rd-8th graders from last school year will be receiving their child(ren)’s ACT Aspire results from our testing last April. Additionally, Mr. Steinmetz will be giving a short informational presentation on reading and interpreting the results of those tests. Please join us for the first CPTA meeting of the year, and to receive the ACT Aspire results!
Visitors to SVLS - When you come to school during school hours, please sign in with Mrs. DeValk in the office. Thank you for your cooperation!
Chapel Mission Offerings - Our first quarter mission offerings that we gather in chapel every Friday are going toward the Feed the Children Fund. This is an extension of the support we've given in the past to the Vulnerable Children's Foundation in Zambia through FVL Schools. These gifts will allow them to purchase food for their newly built kitchen, so the children of our sister schools in Zambia can continue to be fed!
