Application for Re-Enrollment - Please also find included an application for re-enrollment form. New for next year - all of your returning children can go on the one form!

Preschool Expansion - On Saturday, the SVLS General Board voted to expand our preschool program! Beginning in 2019-2020, we will open an additional classroom 3 days per week. This means we'll be looking to hire additional preschool support staff, specifically teacher aides and EDP staff and aides. More information on these positions will be available next week, but in the meantime, if you are interested in one of these positions, please contact either Mrs. Thiele (lauren.thiele@svls.us) or Mr. Steinmetz (jacob.steinmetz@svls.us).

American Heart Association Kids Heart Challenge - This year as the AHA celebrates 40 years of their school programs, we will be participating in the Kids Heart Challenge to support their cause. Children will be able to sign up online to take the heart health challenge and potentially earn $300 in physical education/recess equipment for SVLS. Children also will be able to gather donations for the AHA through May 3.

Palm Sunday Home Sing – Palm Sunday is next Sunday, and to begin Holy Week, we will have our 2nd Home Sing of the year. Palm Sunday services are as follows: Bethel – 8:00 and 10:30am (sing at both) Mt. Calvary – 9:00am St. Luke – 9:00am

Midweek Lent Services - If your family will be attending the Wednesday Lenten services at Mt. Calvary, please let your child(ren) know, as well as your child(ren)'s teacher(s). Children that are staying for the Lent service will be waiting in the 5th-6th grade classroom for you to come and pick them up when you arrive.

ACT Aspire – This week is ACT Aspire testing week for grades 3-8. Proper eating and sufficient sleep area always important, so please ensure this continues to happen for your 3rd -8 th graders, especially this week.

CPTA News
Our last CPTA meeting of the 2018-19 school year is coming up Monday May 6. At this meeting, we will be having a guest speaker, Mr. Jim Price. Mr. Price works for Primerica and is a member at St. Paul Appleton. Mr. Price will be speaking on the topic “The Investment of Christian Education: How to Make it Possible.”

We want to ask everyone to join us for some finger foods and, if you'd like, to bring something to share. Please plan to arrive by 6 pm, as the speaker will be starting at 630 promptly.
Childcare will be provided in the gym. We hope to see you all there!

Teachers lunch is Tuesday April 9, signup is still available, and help is still needed! Visit http://signup.com/go/dtqsbHN to volunteer!
At our April CPTA meeting, a program was brought to our attention, a project called ABC (A Bench for Caps).
This program was designed by children for children as a teaching tool for lifetime habits of GREEN LIVING. Children promise to send caps that have been sorted by them to remove metal and other contaminants. Green Tree Plastics promises to put their caps into a bench for our school!
See the next page of this newsletter for a list of accepted lids.
If you would like more information you can visit www.greentreeplastics.com.
To collect lids, SVLS will be holding a LID WAR from April 23-26. Each classroom will have a container to hold their caps, and at the end of the week CPTA will weigh the containers to see what class has the most caps (by weight)!
The winning classroom will receive a surprise prize, so start collecting your lids!

SVLS General Board – The General Board met on Saturday, April 6, to discuss the business and mission of the school.
Some highlights included:
- Approval to expand our preschool for next year
- Approval to proceed with School Choice for 20-21
- Approval of the 2019-2020 Fiscal Year Budget.

Calling all Brewers Fans!!! If you would like to join a group and catch a Brewers Game this is your chance! St Luke is coordinating a fun outing and has invited all our church and school families! The game is the evening of Tuesday June 4, and the school bus is available for transportation. There are 50 total seats reserved in Section 230 (only 37 remaining!). Please contact Deb Arndt (office@stlukeslittlechute.com or 788- 4408) with questions or to reserve your spot. Cost is $10 per ticket, plus the bus, and is needed by May 13.
