Based on a strong partnership between church and families, Shepherd of the Valley is committed to offering a wide range of courses and activities. Blending traditional Christian values with modern teaching practices, SVLS seeks to tailor its classes to meet the needs of individual students. For gifted students, advanced placement in language arts and math is offered.

For students who need additional help, a strong individualized studies program is available. All students are taught technology and Spanish. Music, drama, soccer, basketball, wrestling and volleyball are just some of the many activities offered in SVLS's facility which opened in January 2005. Shepherd of the Valley is large enough to meet the needs of students, yet small enough to feel like family.

There may be a bit of work, but coming to school each day isn’t work. Seeing the students really light up and find interest in our Bible lesson, a math problem, a novel, a geography project keeps me going. (That and coffee!)
— Mr. Jacob Steinmetz, Teacher (Grades 7th & 8th)
My school has a great variety of sports to participate in anywhere from soccer to cheerleading. Another great feature to our school is our great technology; the Smart Boards and Success Maker help a lot with our studies to increase our overall grades. But what I’m most grateful for is our God loving teachers, increasing our faith throughout our school years.
— Laura Schoeker, Grade 7

PRAIRIE FIRE THEATRE PLAY

PRAIRIE FIRE THEATRE PLAY

I really like the Christian atmosphere and how friendly everyone is, including the teachers. I love learning more and more about Christ every day while learning and growing in other subjects. Everyone in my school helps one another and is nice to each other and if they aren’t, the teachers use Jesus as an example to help them straighten it out.
